The Haunted Dram II
Where spirits linger, and every pour has a story.
This autumn, The Haunted Dram returns.
Following last year’s inaugural tasting, The Haunted Dram II brings together four distinctive Scotch whiskies, each selected for a connection to Scotland’s darker stories, ancient landscapes, folklore and the supernatural.
Some connections are well known. Others reveal themselves only once the bottle is opened.
Available for a limited time only, from 13 October to 7 November 2026.
Four Whiskies. Four Stories.
The Glenrothes 13 Year Old Halloween Edition 2018
The first of The Glenrothes’ celebrated Halloween releases and a bottle now seldom encountered outside private collections.
A whisky created for the season, with a story that begins in Rothes and reaches considerably further than the liquid in the glass.
Balblair 17 Year Old
An elegant, mature Highland single malt from one of Scotland’s oldest working distilleries.
Its place within The Haunted Dram lies not simply with the whisky, but with the ancient landscape surrounding the distillery and the stories held within it.
The Glenrothes 13 Year Old Halloween Edition 2019
The second and final Glenrothes Halloween Edition.
Inspired by Scottish traditions of ghosts and guising, it offers a very different interpretation of the distillery’s character and an increasingly unusual opportunity to taste both Halloween releases side by side.
Cù Bòcan Creation #8
Our final dram brings us back to the Highlands and into the territory of legend.
Cù Bòcan takes its name from a spectral creature said to have haunted the village of Tomatin, while Creation #8 is a limited 2026 release matured using an unusual combination of casks.
Lightly peated and distinctly different from the whiskies before it, it provides an appropriately smoky final chapter.
The Experience
The Haunted Dram II is a privately hosted exploration of Scotch whisky, history, folklore and the stories that continue to surround some of Scotland’s most fascinating distilleries.
Across four carefully selected single malts, we uncover why each bottle has earned its place in the tasting, exploring the whisky itself alongside the history, landscape and occasionally stranger tales behind it.
Relaxed, atmospheric and personal, there is plenty of time to nose, taste and discuss each dram properly.
Once this year’s bottles are poured, this exact tasting will not return.
